The Pediatric SafeTway MDI Spacer is a disposable one-way mouthpiece, sold 150 pieces/ box, designed specifically for pediatric patients to simulate medication delivery for inhaler training in a clinical setting. The low resistance SafeTway mouthpiece allows for the entry of inspired air to the patient but not back into the medication device. This device is an inexpensive alternative to dispensing chambers or nebulizing medication for pre and post-bronchodilator assessment. This product may also be useful in implementing a Respiratory Department's Common Canister Protocol. Please note that when used to administer medication through this device, this is considered "off label use" by the manufacturer. This device contains a one way inspiratory valve which is NOT a bacterial viral filter and cannot be guaranteed to prevent passage of respiratory particles.
